We take in over 34 gigabytes of information per day through our eyes and ears. That’s the equivalent of 7,253 books worth of information! People nowadays are inundated with information, so when you write, you need to cut through the clutter. You want them to read your message and immediately understand what it means to them. 

In this 90-minute virtual workshop, participants strategies for writing clearly and concisely. We analyze examples, learn structures, gain new tips, and reflect on a piece of business writing. The number one principle of this workshop is to respect the reader's time as much as your own. 

The workshop is fun and interactive. The result for participants is two-fold: 1) clear expectations for effective writing and 2) practical skills to become more efficient and effective writers.


Agenda Topics

  • Know your Goal - Before you start writing, use a communications framework to help you critically think about audience, intent, message, and medium. 

  • Structure Your Message - Analyze samples of writing from your company to gain awareness of common pitfalls and how to avoid them when communicating through writing

  • Reflect and Commit - Review your own writing, make observations, and discuss commitments moving forward to communicate more effectively
